VOOMVOOM Ltd was formed in 2006 by Vee Ganjavian and Charlie Williams-Hawkes, and is a high-profile company dedicated to providing a sales and maintenance platform for hi-performance boating in the UK. VOOMVOOM acts as the UK agent for Hustler Powerboats USA, Phantom Boats USA, European agent for Aquarius Inflatables and are an authorised installer and supplier of Tohatsu engines. As well as providing the latest in race prepared equipment. The company can offer clients a complete one stop shop for high performance boat management. Based in Chandlers Ford in Hampshire, VOOMVOOM has extensive workshop facilities, and partners with local companies for paint-shop, and marine lifting and launching facilities. Vee Ganjavian began his career working in the finance industry dealing in future options and insurance. Since then, he had a complete change of direction and started Microlink PC (UK) Ltd with his business partner, Dr Nasser Siabi, in November 1992.
Vee always owned powerboats from a young age and in 2005/6 he raced in the World Championship Powerboat P1 series. He has broken many world speed records in different disciplines and his greatest achievement was winning the World Championship in 2012. Vee will head the company as Managing Director bringing the professional business approach and enthusiasm he is accustomed to.
Jon Ridd, Technical and Engineering Manager, is responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of all aspects of engineering including maintenance of the Race boat. Jon is a fully qualified marine diesel and hydraulic engineer, working for many years on high performance vessels, with responsibilities such as 'Crew Chief' and technical adviser for the boat that holds the 6,12,18 and 24hr endurance World records using Yanmar power plants.
It has been an exceptional decade for Southampton Company Microlink PC (UK) Ltd, Europe’s largest multi award winning organisation that supports individuals in education and corporate sectors. After winning the ‘Disability Champion, Diversity & Equality Awards’ in 2013, they started a joint venture ‘Race4Inclusivity’ with local sports community, ThunderCat Racing UK, to empower the lives of others not only on land but sea. ThunderCat Racing, an extreme grass root global series adheres itself more to the Iron Man Triathlon than the elitist sport of powerboat racing.
With Microlink’s continuing support, ThunderCat Racing UK have given individuals and the community opportunities to participate on land and in competitions. The RYA National ThunderCat Racing Championship has led to a vibrant GB Team taking part in the recent UIM P750 World Championships held in the South coast of England. This culminated in the GB Teams winning Bronze, Silver and Gold medals competing against nine countries in 2015.
